elfman/birds

right, the first batch is here. i have selected the songs that have either been requested (The Murder) or that i myself enjoy from within the first eight episodes of the series. i didn't include the main title theme because it is fairly easy to get a copy of it (it is contained on the soundtrack that abc released).

i read on wikipedia that steve jablonsky did not score the pilot - he began his work on the second ep. so, did danny elfman score the pilot? i'm not sure - but if that is the case, this material is copyrighted to mr. danny elfman as well. who is downright brilliant, if i may say so. has anyone noticed that the main theme is used quite heavily in the first episode of the series, but virtually not at all in any other episodes? i wonder why not...copyright issues? is steve not allowed to use elfman's score?

oh, and birds. there are a lot of chirping birds in these selections. i can't seem to get them out. sorry.

mrs. huber discovers mary alice's body.  and then steals her blender.

Introducing Lynette Scavo

meet lynette.  she bribes her kids and brings chicken to mary alice's wake.

Introducing Gabrielle Solis

meet gaby.  she is a former model, and brings a spicey hot dish to mary alice's wake.

Introducing Bree Van de Kamp

meet bree.  she reupholsters her own furniture and brings homemade muffins to mary alice's wake.  she'll need the baskets back.

Introducing Susan Mayer

meet susan.  she's divorced and brings her macaroni to mary alice's wake.  but don't eat it.

Introducing Edie Britt

meet edie.  she's...a whore.

My Memory

from the beginning of 1.03, "pretty little picture". mary alice reveals the one thing she took with her into the afterlife:  her memory.  also, enjoy the lovely sounds of mary alice being cremated (sorry...).

The Young Residence

the music that plays when the ladies discover that paul young is selling his house.  from the end of "pretty little picture".

Pretty Little Picture

Mommy Stress

the piece that plays at the beginning of 1.04, "who's that woman"...with a montage of lynette doing a lot of stuff.

Previously 

the "previously on desperate housewives" music from 1.06, "running to stand still".

Competition

mary alice speaks of competition at the conclusion of 1.07, "anything you can do".  in my opinion, this is the first "ending montage" piece of the series that is worth downloading.

We Should Tell Each Other

susan and bree console lynette, and reveal that they too had hard times raising their children.  beautiful piece.  from 1.08, "guilty".

The Murder

exciting piece from the end of "guilty".  paul murders mrs. huber, susan and mike take things to the next level...and the track concludes with a soft, lovely tune as lynette is shown at peace.
